Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Tele position requiring 18 months of med/tele experience and NC or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in a 32-bed Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke, seizures, AMS, AKI/CKD, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds
• RN patient ratio is typically 1:5-6, may be up to 1:7-8 in surge situations
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation is every other weekend
• Float required within Region 2 to Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division facilities as needed
• No on-call or call back requirements
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Philips monitors
• Support team includes CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, pharmacists, case managers, clinical nurse specialist, 24/7 RT, nurse educator, hospitalists, and APPs
• No remote telemetry tech, unit staff are responsible for reading and posting during every shift
• Orientation includes hospital NEO and two days of departmental training
• Scrub color for RNs is navy blue
• Free parking provided
• Unit culture is family oriented
• Must be willing to float within designated region as required
• Travelers are required to work 75% of holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)
• General medical/surgical nursing skillset
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
